5 August – 30 October 2010. "Salisbury in Detail" exhibits a selection of images which together offer a photographic portrait of the city, from historic core to outskirts. Chosen from over 500 photographs featured in Salisbury Civic Society’s book of the same name, some of these images will come as a surprise, even to those who know Salisbury well.

For both resident and visitor, the variety and richness of the images convey a powerful picture of the quality and value of Salisbury’s secular buildings, showing that it is not only the well-known ‘listed’ buildings that contain features of value. Here is a chance to examine unique features of Salisbury close up, from doors and windows, to lettering and intricate terracotta.

Published in 2009, with a foreword by Terry Pratchett, the Civic Society’s book reveals much that is unfamiliar about the city, even to those who have lived in it for many years.
