An art gallery in the Wye Valley in Wales is to show a watercolour by HRH The Prince of Wales as part of a special Ryder Cup exhibition. The watercolour of a Welsh mountain scene (above) will be part of the Essence of Wales exhibition on show at the Denise Yapp Contemporary Art gallery in Whitebrook, near Monmouth, in the lead-up to the golf tournament in Newport.
It will then be exhibited alongside other works by major UK artists at Denise Yapp’s gallery at The Celtic Manor Resort during the Ryder Cup golf tournament. The Europe vs USA competition takes place at The Celtic Manor Resort on 1–3 October.
Paintings by HRH The Prince of Wales are normally only on display at Highgrove, his home near Tetbury in Gloucestershire.
The Essence of Wales exhibition opens at the Denise Yapp Gallery on 16 September. A selection of the paintings including Prince Charles's, will then create the Ryder Cup exhibition at the Denise Yapp gallery at Celtic Manor, 25 September–5 October.
Gallery owner Denis Yapp said, “We have been planning for the last two years to
ensure this exhibition will match the quality and talent of the international
golfers on display, with that of our artists and their work.”
