Hockney, Wallinger, Ackroyd and Brooks contribute to a special exhibition to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Terrace
Gallery and contemporary art programme at Harewood.
To celebrate this birthday we have invited 21 artists, writers, curators, performers and others to respond to the collections,
throwing new light on objects, themes and locations selected by them across the House and Gardens.
In 1989 the Terrace Gallery was established at Harewood by artist/curator Diane Howse: a radical gesture in its day and the first dedicated contemporary art space in the setting of a country house.
In 2010 we celebrate the Gallery's coming of age and look back on twenty-one years of the exhibitions programme, which has shown
work by luminaries including David Hockney, Mark Wallinger, Anya Gallaccio, Marc Quinn, Sonia Boyce, Sidney Nolan, Andy Goldsworthy , Norman Ackroyd, Jason Brooks, Leo Fitzmaurice, Zarina Bhimji, Laura Ford and many many more...
