Paignton Zoo to host UKs biggest Brick Safari in 2020

The Great Big Brick Safari will bring over 80 giant wild animal models to Devon next summer. Animals are made using over 1,000,000 LEGO bricks. Laid out, this amount of bricks would cover 20 miles.

Zoo spokesperson Phil Knowling said: We want your old plastic building bricks but not to make the Great Big Brick Safari models; these are created by professional BRICKLIVE artists and contain a million bricks. We want them so that guests inspired by the safari models can make their own when they visit us.

Its a great chance to get rid of unwanted bricks. Search your cupboards and your lofts; have an autumn clear-out. Well take all sorts, shapes, sizes, colours and brands. Recycle your unwanted bricks and donate them to a good cause. We will clean them, make them available to play with next summer, then pass them on to good homes afterwards, so they wont be wasted.

There will be a brick donation point at Paignton Zoo, while local radio stations including The Breeze and Radio Exe will be running promotions to collect bricks. The great big brick collection will last until February 2020.

Pippa Craddock, Director of Marketing & Development at Paignton Zoo, commented: Were so excited to be hosting the UKs biggest Brick Safari. Our guests will have an action-packed full day out. its going to be a fun summer in 2020.
