Exhibition: Rhayader Art Group

Rhayader Art Group's "Summer Exhibition" showcases their range of talents with all original artwork for sale. Prints and greetings cards also available.
Open daily from 10am until 4pm at the Visitor Centre.
Watercolour Landscapes For Beginners

A workshop ideal for beginners. Local artist and qualified tutor David Ward will guide you every step of the way on your journey to learning new and essential techniques for the watercolourist.

Penglaneinon Farm Sheep Shearing Afternoon

Join the annual sheep shearing at Penglaneinon Farm. Witness the modern and traditional sheep shearing methods whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea, with welsh cakes & bara brith and see a live demonstration of wool spinning.

Wye and Elan Circular
Sat 13 Jul / 10am-5pm
A joint event with Brecon Beacons Park Society. Join Dilys Harlow and Andrew Leonard as they lead this energetic 11.5 mile walk from Gilfach car park which passes through the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust Reserve before following ancient routes that cross the hills between the Wye and Elan, then returning along the Wye Valley Walk.
Batik Workshop — inspired by John Piper

The artist John Piper created atmospheric images of the English landscape and its architecture. Using his work as inspiration artist Jenny O'Leary will teach you how to use the technique of batik which is hot wax resist working on tissue paper and found papers with bleach and inks to create atmospheric textures and effects. Places are limited so please book in advance.
Dam Open Day
Tue 30 Jul / 1 - 4pm
Join our Rangers at one of our big Dam Open Days - an exclusive chance to venture into Pen y Garreg Dam and up to the central tower. You’ll enjoy a bird's-eye view of the dam wall and learn about the feat of engineering that made Elan.
Park at Penbont car park and take a walk through the woodland, up the steps to the dam entrance. There is no need to book, simply turn up anytime between 1pm and 4pm.
High Ropes Challenge
Wed 31 Jul / 10am - 1pm
Platforms, bridges, unusual obstacles, a zip line and an adrenaline jump, all in a stunning setting alongside Caban Coch Reservoir.
You don’t need experience or to be super fit, however you must be over 1.4m tall, have a waist of less than 43” and be able to climb a rope ladder. All young people must be supervised by a responsible adult. Adult £20, 8-18s £17.50.
