Welsh Wildlife Centre Outdoor Learning and Indoor craft events 27-29 May

Over the Half Term holiday, at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, we have an exciting range of outdoor learning and indoor crafty events to keep you busy whatever the weather.

On Bank Holiday Monday 27 May, Castle Archers will be with us offering you the chance to have a go at this brilliant traditional sporting activity! Sessions are available between 10:30am and 4:30pm and booking isn’t necessary. Come and have a go! We also have shelter building sessions so you can practise survival skills by learning how to make a safe structure. Suitable for ages 6+

Tuesday 28 May is a Beast Bonanza! A Reptile Ramble includes a short informative talk about the reptiles found on the reserve, followed by a walk to explore secluded areas and hopefully see some reptiles! Some areas are uneven and slippery so not suitable for pushchairs or anyone with mobility difficulties. Later that afternoon, we will be hunting for bugs and beasties with our Mini-beast Safari, looking in different habitats to find out what fantastic beasts are lurking in the undergrowth.

On Wednesday 29 May we’ll be searching for more beasts…this time in the pond! Find out about the amazing lives of the creatures that lurk beneath the water and inhabit the pond margins with our Pond Dipping event starting at 11am. Wednesday afternoon and on Friday 31st May, we have an indoor arts & crafts activity suitable for all ages. Choose an item to paint and take away; we have lots of choice including money boxes, insect homes, bird feeders, plant pots and much more.

If you like art and craft activities with a nature theme then you’ll love our Animal Clay Modelling activity on Thursday 30th May. Try your hand at creating a woodland creature using air-drying clay and natural materials.

Daily activities run from 11am-12:30pm and 2pm-3:30pm and cost no more than £3 per child. Booking is highly recommended, please call 01239 621600 to reserve spaces.

Full details for these activities can be found on the website at https://www.welshwildlife.org/visitor-centres/the-welsh-wildlife-centre/

The Welsh Wildlife Centre, including the Glasshouse Café and Gift Shop is open every day from 10am-5pm.
