The frog that thinks its a moss-- at Paignton Zoo

Photo courtesy Paignton Zoo The natural world is full of extraordinary examples of camouflage. This endearing little creature, a mossy frog from Paignton Zoo in Devon, shows that the species is well named.

He was recently photographed by Zoo photographer Eleanor Stobbart. Mossy frogs, native to Vietnam, are rarely seen in public collections, with only a handful of places in the UK keeping them.

Paignton Zoos three mossy frogs can be seen if you can spot them in the Amphibian Ark conservation centre.

We know little about the species in the wild, but its likely that it isnt doing well in the wild despite its amazing camouflage.

Paignton Zoo is a registered charity. For more information go to www.paigntonzoo.org.uk
