Help us celebrate the opening of this exciting new exhibition with a family fun day where you can be challenged in our robotics workshop, create LEGO® vehicles before competing to see how fast they can go on a ramp, have a go at printing with LEGO® and investigating our design laboratory before letting your imagination go wild making your own Museum of Treasures in our Creation Station.

Join young mezzo soprano Jadwiga Slomka and pianist Antonia Lax for a charming concert in the 19th Century Picture Gallery, featuring Czech, Russian and Polish music. Jadwiga trained with Jane Ford Farrand at Durham University. Antonia teaches piano at Durham University and the Sage and is a sought after solo performer and accompanist.

There will be lots of exciting activities, including Brick This creator Steve Mayes doing a demonstration in the LEGO® Creation Station, delicious food and opportunities to meet the Museum team and learn more about our amazing collections.
Olga Zado in Concert

We are proud to welcome the exciting Ukrainian pianist, Olga Zado, to perform a captivating recital in the Picture Galleries. Often referred to as “a magician on the piano,” she touches audiences around the world with her poetic musicianship and electrifying technique. Pieces that can be enjoyed at the performance will include Schubert’s 4 Impromptus Opus 142, Chopin’s Ballade No. 3, and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Opus 111.

Here’s your chance to visit LEGO®: Building The Bowes Museum without a child with you! Get tips and find out the tricks of the trade with Steve Mayes, the founder of BrickThis.
Experience LEGO® brick pits, test your skills with creative challenges, follow the Lego trail and enjoy some colourful LEGO® cocktails and delicious LEGO® themed food.
There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs throughout the evening.

Beamish Reliability Run

Enjoy classic cars in the grounds this Father’s Day with the 48th annual Beamish Reliability Run. A wide range of cars dating from 1956 and earlier will stop off as they make their way through the Durham and Yorkshire Dales on their way to Beamish Museum.
