#Untitled10 was commissioned by the Bowes Centre in Spring this year, in collaboration with The Bowes Museum and Durham Creatives.
It features the work of artists, designers and makers who have spent time in and around The Bowes Museum, its grounds and collections.
Their deliberately unfinished works will be unveiled as visitors explore the museum nestled among the collections that have inspired them.
Each display will show the different processes the creators have used from the moment of inspiration through their ups and downs to how their piece of art is now.
Matthew Read, Director of The Bowes Centre, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to find out about the items and how they were made. It is really rare to get an actual insight into the processes involved in creating something and then to see how introducing these works changes the spaces within The Bowes Museum.”
Matthew will be giving guided tours of the installation and the artists and makers will also be available to talk about their individual exhibits. More information on dates and times will be available on our website www.thebowesmuseum.org.uk
Works by artists Bridget Kennedy, Stuart Langley, Rachel Emily Taylor, Lisa Smith, furniture designer-maker Nick James, Jeweller Hannah Peters, Photographer Richard Glynn, Designer-maker Ann Gill, Contemporary dance artist Eliot Smith and Musician Kit Haigh will feature in the #Untitled10 collection.
The Bowes Museum is open daily from 10am. Details of exhibitions and events can be found on the website at www.thebowesmuseum.org.uk
