Hoxton Hotel London

Hoxton Hotel courtesy the hotel The hip Hoxton Urban Lodge just might be the best value in London. Rated as “London’s Best Hotel” by the Sunday Times Travel Magazine in 2008, this new (opened in 2006) boutique hotel offers all the perks of the bigger hotels for less money. The sleek minimalist décor is decidedly hip.

Expect top-quality Frette linens and duck-down duvets in each of the Lodge’s 205 rooms. Free WIFI, flat screen TVs, and a friendly, helpful staff are just some of the up-market, low cost features. Sleek leather sofas and a warming fire entice guests to pause and relax after a day’s sight-seeing. For just £5 a day, guests can swim or work out at Market Sports, a nearby gym, then enjoy a power shower in their ensuite hotel room.

Hoxton Hotel bedroom courtesy the hotel Included in the room cost is a light breakfast (orange juice, banana and granola Pret yoghurt pot) in a take-away bag delivered to your door each morning. In the mini-fridge there is a litre of mineral water and milk for tea. The Hoxton Grille, a bistro style restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Hoxton stands apart with its inventive pricing scheme. The further ahead you book, the less you pay. Rooms can be had for as little as £30 and this includes an en suite bathroom and all the standard perks. A few times each year they hold a £1 room sale. Enter your email on their website to be notified when these events occur.

The Hoxton's philosophy is based on the experiences of Sinclair Beecham, co-founder of Pret A Manger, a chain of take-out food kiosks located throughout London. Sinclair's view is simply to provide the customer with an exceptional experience at an affordable price. The Hoxton succeeds on all counts.
