2005 Review

Arora Hotel exterior courtesy the hotel Ignore the sterile lobby with its uncomfortable child size furniture. The Arora International Manchester is perfectly positioned for a stay in the city, and its rooms more than make up for this introduction.

Arora Hotel bedroom courtesy the hotel With the exterior of a Grade 2 listed building, the 21st century interior of the fully air-conditioned hotel is a welcome contrast. The 141 smartly decorated bedrooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from superior to executive class. The beds are heavenly, boasting ‘Cloud 9’ mattresses. Bedroom amenities include TV, mini fridges, irons, and personal safes. The bathrooms are completely equipped, even down to TV speakers. In-room broadband internet connections (fee charged) are a plus for the business traveler. The hotel has a small fitness room.

Arora Hotel Obsidian Bar courtesy the hotel Arora Hotel Obsidian Restaurant courtesy the hotel Providing refreshment to the weary traveller the Obsidian bar, with its 50-foot illuminated counter, offers an extensive cocktail list along with light snacks and tapas. The Obsidian restaurant reflects the hotel’s décor with its leather, mahogany, and redwood design features. Dishes are based on local ingredients prepared with international influences.

Manchester Town Hall by Barbara Ballard Located in the city centre on Princess Street, the hotel’s convenient for the art gallery (just across the street), the pedestrianised shopping center, and business. Attractions within walking distance include the city hall, history museum, science museum, Urbis, and the cathedral.
